A shore trip excursion took Babs into a desert
somewhere with amazing rock formations. Early 1970’s.


Babs visits a local handicraft market in Papeete, Tahiti, on 30 January 1972.


On the Opolu Island in Western Samoa 1972,
Babs gets acquainted with a cute young inhabitant.



On the dock of Punta Arenas in 1974, in the Antarctic region of Chile,
a local soldier on duty gives Babs an admiring glance and a smile...

Berit’s husband Sea Captain Gunivar Sandberg on a sunny day by the jetty at Lake Bolmen.


Passengers are eager to board the MS Kavaljeren a warm evening in June 1989.
She measured 53.8 x 13.5 feet and could accommodate up to 110 passengers,
and often had live-band music entertainment onboard.


Staying in touch: Anita Poli Olsson visits her old friend “Babs” onboard the
MS Kavaljeren in 1991, i.e. 20 years after they first got to know each
other on the Kungsholm. The man to the left is an anonymous passenger
with no Kungsholm connection who just happened to sit at the same table.
