They served in the Gripholm's hospital 1931-1936.

Gripsholm's Winter Cruise 1934.
Lars-Erik Jansson, for many years Information Officer on the Kungsholm and Gripsholm, informs us that Ernest Hemingway and Bror Fredrik von Blixen-Finecke (the husband of Karen Blixen), embarked in Mombasa and were passengers on this cruise to Villefranche.

The Captain.
Name, see below.


The very faint description for the above photo in Lindblad's album.
According to Morgan Lundberg's list of SAL commanders,
there was a Captain Lundmark, but no mention of a Captain Lundblad.

Prince Harald of Denmark, and his wife Princess Helena,
fomerly Princess Helena Adelaide of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg,
were passengers in cabin 21 on the Gripsholm's Winter Cruise of 1934.
Both the prince and princess were taken ill, and admitted to the ship's hospital.

Dr Maurits Lindblad was awarded Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog,
for his service to the royal couple.
